Our teams (A-Z):
We have a number of cleaning teams, working to keep the place spick ‘n’ span. It’s a big building – with the job done quicker the more people doing it! A real opportunity to serve and bless the church.
Riverside have a number of home groups that meet at locations across town; they cater for all ages and each has a different ‘flavour.’ We aim for them all to have an element of teaching and some form of worship, but the main focus is fellowship and pastoral oversight.
If you are a member of Riverside and have been attending for at least 6 months we will do our very best to find the right home group for you.
This is a crucial role, especially after the Sunday morning service each week. At present, pairs of people take it in turns on a rota to prepare and serve the refreshments, meaning a commitment of about twice a year.
The Sound Techs are there to produce the best possible atmosphere for worship. This includes but is not limited to, creating the best music mix possible, creating an audio mix that meets the mood the worship leader/pastor wants to convey and supporting the Audio needs of the people involved with the church service. We currently use Allen & Heaths QU-24 digital sound desk.
During the service they will proactively manage the live performance; ultimately, glorifying God through providing excellent audio services.
The Presentation Techs liaise with the worship leader/pastor to create the running order, provide lyrics and other graphics for the weekend service using the Easy Worship software package. They transfer quotes, titles, and scripture from the sermon notes into the running order within Easy Worship. During the service they are responsible for advancing the lyric slides, playing videos, and displaying Bible scriptures.
Worship isn’t about songs on a Sunday morning. It’s about an attitude that permeates every part of our life, and there is something special about coming together and worshipping God.
We are blessed by having a number of teams who bring a mixture of modern praise and traditional hymns to proclaim Biblical truths and to lift God’s name high. We also hold regular ‘jam nights’ for musicians of all abilities to make music for God. If you’re interested in finding out more, or attending a jam night, contact Tim who oversees the worship at Riverside.
Improvements, repairs, DIY… the list is endless with what this team does around the building, using their expertise and knowledge. A number of long-running projects are in progress, with lots more on the ‘wish list’. If you are handy with your hands, this may be an area you could serve the church.
